"On this card you see one of ours national dishes: Raclette. It is melted cheese accomponished by cooked potatoes" - Barbara
Raclette - what it is? I have no idea what it is when I saw this postcard for the first time. But it makes me curious thought I was not sure can it be made in my country on the whole. About this cheese I heard for the first time and I thought it is so rare that it can not be easy to find it in my country here.

Postcard from Switzerland
Raclette - it is traditional Switzerland dish consist with melted cheese and traditionally served with boiled potatoes. Raclette grills is used to make cheese melted. Everyone has their own small pans in which melts it's raclette. It is sliced exatly like that size and perfectly fits into a pan. I found an amazing video on the Internet where you see how this dish is used. Everyone has their own pans and talk to each other about their interest when the cheese is melting.
Raceltte it is often served with hot boiled potatoes although you can mixed it with any variety of vegetables, fruits, meet or fish. Melted cheese is poured on boiled potatoes and place back to melt. It makes a comfortable atmosphere where everyone can talk with each other when waiting his own pan.
I thought I won't find any information about this dish in my country but for my big surprise Raclette cheese is very used in here and many people know about it. As I said it before this dish needs to be made in a special Raclette grill and it is pitty that I don't have any equipment like this at my home. Actually I barely bought it when I saw this video about Raclette. Watching that video I was already dreaming my little angels (there are only 1 and 3 years age) are waiting for their own cheese pan and choosing their favourite ingredients. I think it can be very intresting for children as they are very curiuos and want to try everything by themselfs. Atthough I have no plans to buy any new equipments for my kitchen and spend extra money so I chose to find how to cook this intresting dish without Raclette grill. And Hurray!!!Great Internet!I found one recipe with Raclette cheese on the Pinterest and there no need to use that special grill. So let's try it:)

Stuffed potatoes with Raclette cheese
200 g Raclette cheese
200 g bacon
6 Potatoes
Butter
Salt
Boiled potatoes with the skin. Cut Raclette cheese in a small pieces. Until potatoes are hot, cut them in a half and take the skin off. Scoop out pulp, leaving a thin shells. Wrap 2 bacon slices around each potatoes and put them in a cupcake pan.

Add raclette cheese inside potatoes and bake in 180 C for 20 - 25 minutes until cheese is melted and bacon fryed. Serve with pickled cucumbers or olives and enjoy your meal!

I like this recipe for it's simplicity. It is very easy to cook it and it perfectly fits for family dinner. Althought it seems for me a little bit dry so pickled cucumbers or olives fix that very good. Am I going to cook it again?Defently yes!:)
